If they included the mac prodcut, then Windoze people would feel cheated • because
they are getting an inferior prodcut.

Then the Windows users could just use ROBOLAB then, because it works on PC's
too. :)

Then they have wasted all of the development time/money on the RCX Code thing,
since most people will then want to use RoboLab.  Also, IIRC, Robolab costs
something like $70, so you would be getting some software for near free.  I doubt
they would be abl to increase the cost of the RIS anymore.

If they release both RoboLab versions
for
RIS, then what makes schools want to buy the more expensive Dacta stuff?
Teaching
Materials?  You can buy them seperately.

Well, the box is better for one.  A compact plastic tub with a lid instead of a
big cardboard box with a flimsy plastic tray.  Some teachers dig that.  I
personally just bought a bunch of plastic industrial parts trays and sorted by
piece, not by kit.

Secondly, the "Team Challenge Kit" (the RIS in a green plastic tub) also comes
with a Mac cable in addition to the PC one, or, I should say, it will until the
USB tower is released I'm guessing.  That accounts for $10-15 of the increased
price.

If  I was TLC, I'd rather have a more sure way of attracting teachers to Dacta than
having a plastic box.  I would like to have a RIS in plastic anyway, but I know
that is never going to happen unless I cough up more money than needed for
generally overpriced Dacta parts.
