Yep - that's the one you want.

Well, it's been "about to come out" for quite some time - which is *very* worrying.

Not *much*.
There are a few different parts between 1.5 and 2.0 - nothing that matters *drastically*.
The major difference is that the Infrared Transmitter is connected to the PC via RS-232
in the RIS 1.0 and 1.5 but they are switching it over to USB in the RIS 2.0.
That may or may not matter to you. It's not like you are going to get better performance
with the USB version or anything (it's all horribly limited by the slow speed of the IR).

I noticed today that my local branch of Fry's has a couple of sets - but they are certainly
getting harder and harder to find and the 2.0 sets have only been spotted in Japan AFAIK.
Expect to pay ~$199.
If you happen to find an RIS 1.0, that'll do OK too...some people prefer the 1.0 over the
1.5 because it has an external power supply socket that was mysteriously removed from the
1.5 version.

| Hello everyone... I'm just starting to get into this Lego/RCX stuff. I'm a professional programmer, kind of transitioning into teaching high school programming, and Lego/RCX seems like a neat way to teach programming. But first I need to learn to (...)
