This is true, in terms of both lighting and resolution.
XCam2 is a cheap, wireless camera. Whether its image quality is good enough
for you depends on the nature of your project. In my case, as long as it
picks up my barcode tags, I am happy.

I'd like know how well the image resolution this approach can deliver.
I think the X10 video-sender converts the signal to NTSC, so this is still
not an all-digital solution.
