Re: News sensors and the RDS

please take me off the list. I don't have time anymore to read all the mail. Thanks (25 years ago, 17-Jan-01, to lugnet.robotics)

  RE: LEGO Injuries (was adder-subtractor)

(...) I once tried to catch one of those rubber-tipped "arrows" in mid-air between my two hands, using a motion like clapping your hands. The problem is that I caught it sideways, with the rubber-tipped end pointing at one hand, and the thin end (...) (25 years ago, 17-Jan-01, to lugnet.robotics)

Re: Help/Advice How to buy certain bricks in the UK

Funny you should mention this because I just finished my "rough draft" syncro-drive bot. I found my turntables at www.brickbay.com for about $10 US each. There are are few UK located shops but they currently seem to be out of tables in any quantity. (...) (25 years ago, 17-Jan-01, to lugnet.robotics)

  Palmpilot and RCX

Hi! Does anybody see a possibility to use the Palmpilots IR-Port with the RCX. I know that it is a IrDA-Port, but is it possible that the RCX understands IrDA or either way the Palm sends some RCX style commands? Any suggestions? Thanx! Sebastian (...)   Re: News sensors and the RDS

(...) Yeah, it's called an RCX ;) I have no idea why the RDS brick has any real appeal in the face of competition from the RCX one. No active sensor capability, and only 1k of room for programs? Even at Lego's $129 for the RCX, if you already have a (...) (25 years ago, 16-Jan-01, to lugnet.robotics)

  Re: Motor mis-match.

(...) What's 'semi' about it ? (...) I'm not sure that this is true. Firstly, the copper windings will become poorer conductors as they heat up. And they will likely be the hottest part of the motor. Secondly, thermal expansion may well increase the (...) (25 years ago, 16-Jan-01, to lugnet.robotics)

  The Lego Spooler

The LEGO Spooler is my latest creation. It is a model of a photographic film spooler which converts large stock-rolls of microfilm to small customer rolls. You can see it here: (URL) was a fun thing to build. There are three control systems at work (...) (25 years ago, 17-Jan-01, to lugnet.robotics)

Re: Sharing USB cable between IR and VC?

(...) 1. There are actually a USB hub inside the CAM. Both the logitech cam and mic are connected to this hub. (That's why you find 3 devices in the windows 9.x after you installed the driver) 2. The case material is transparent. It means a IR or (...) (25 years ago, 17-Jan-01, to lugnet.robotics)

  RIS 2.0 / USB / MAC?

As the RIS 2.0 will support USB, is there in suggestion that it will also support the iMac/Mac platform this time around? Scott A (25 years ago, 17-Jan-01, to lugnet.robotics)

Re: Sharing USB cable between IR and VC?

(...) If I understand USB you will need a HUB. You can't just splice them together. Dean -- Coin-Op's For Sale!: (URL) Lego Workshop: (URL) Lego Club: (URL) (25 years ago, 17-Jan-01, to lugnet.robotics)
