Re: Elimating the need for the IR tower

Hi, may i get off of the e-mail list? I just don't have the time to read all of them. Thanks Mitchell (25 years ago, 11-Jan-01, to lugnet.robotics)

Re: Elimating the need for the IR tower

(...) From what I've read, it can't be done as they use different frequencies (or something). thanks, .clint (25 years ago, 11-Jan-01, to lugnet.robotics)

Re: Interfacing Sharp's GP2D02 Distance Sensor to the RCX

Adding a power pack to the interface isnt really a problem. How would you connect it if we use an external power supply? Can we just use Michael's GPAI at (URL) Sorry about the basic questions, I am a software engineer not an electrical engineer... (...) (25 years ago, 11-Jan-01, to lugnet.robotics)

Re: Interfacing Sharp's GP2D02 Distance Sensor to the RCX

(...) somewhere I read that the lego motors have a power consumptions from 100mA normal up to 450mA stalled. Am I wrong with this ? BTW why not use an external power pack if necessary ? (...) okay, that won't work that easyly. But if you use a motor (...) (25 years ago, 11-Jan-01, to lugnet.robotics)

Re: Microsoft and LEGO Company Announce a Shared Dream

(...) Um, and why is it so bad? I wonder if it has anything to do with using Microsoft software to begin with. I observe that the web site works a lot better with Internet Explorer than Netscape on my PC, and it doesn't work at all on my Unix (...)   FW: Mindstorms RIS 1.5 out of stock

Hi there. I just received this message from RobotBooks.com: The Lego Mindstorms Robotics Invention System is back in stock at RobotBooks.com! Great news! it is also On Sale for $149.99! More great news! If you are a first-time toy buyer you get (...) (25 years ago, 11-Jan-01, to lugnet.robotics)

Re: Microsoft and LEGO Company Announce a Shared Dream

(...) Hey Dean, this is not necessarily going to be a disaster. As much as I dislike Microsoft as a company, I have to admit that during the past year or so they have made some impressive improvements to some Mac software. Some critics have gone so (...)   Re: Interfacing Sharp's GP2D02 Distance Sensor to the RCX

Unless I am missing something here, the Sharp range of IR distance sensors all have power consumptions in the 35mA range, which prohibits their use with the RCX unless you resort to using external power packs. How do you propose getting around this (...) (25 years ago, 11-Jan-01, to lugnet.robotics)

Re: Interfacing Sharp's GP2D02 Distance Sensor to the RCX

(...) Hi Ram, I don't know an easier way of using GP2D02 but why don't you use the GP2D12 instead ? It has an analog output. You don't have to analyze any serial protocol. And as the lego light-sensor has a driven light source, it should be possible (...) (25 years ago, 11-Jan-01, to lugnet.robotics)

Re: Microsoft and LEGO Company Announce a Shared Dream

(...) Whoah there Dean, calm down. What this press release boils down to is: 1) Microsoft powering the S@H stuff on the Web. * Hey, it can't get any worse than it is now - whenever I try to go there it's so slow as to be completely unusable. 2) LEGO (...)
