After the November 6th "Workshop 3D LEGO RCX Challenge" in Seattle, Gus Jansson and I decided it was time to start a LEGO Robot specific group in this area. Well, it's about a month later, and we're through talking, time for some action! So this is (...) You could use the 6-Leg Walker "Mushi Mushi 7" at (URL) in the "Master Builder Tutorial" as the platform for experimentation. I thought the design was real good, ie, symmetrical and with no extra parts used. My only reservation was that 'turning' (...) (25 years ago, 12-Dec-00, to lugnet.robotics)

Bob Fay's suggestion is a good one, here's another option: Drive both sides with a single motor via a differential, add a rack + pinion steering to the front, or, if you have a second differential, create a mixing differential for a skid-steered (...) (25 years ago, 12-Dec-00, to lugnet.robotics)

i'm sorry if i offended anyone but i got like a ton of email from people saying that i should use a synchro drive and it is exactly the opposite of what i was looking for... the super car was more on the track but i didn't look at it closely enough (...) (...) As lots of other people have said - you really need rotation sensors. If you don't have one - then a line-follower is an option (as other people have also suggested)...or I *suppose* you could put a bright light at either end of your 15 foot (...) (25 years ago, 12-Dec-00, to lugnet.robotics)
