  Re: Which Palm?

(...) Sure you can! :) You can order a "serial" cable for your Visor from the following URL: (URL) Ordered mine about two weeks ago. My plan is to use it with my RCX as well as my GPS. (25 years ago, 21-Nov-00, to lugnet.robotics)

  RE: Which Palm?

Martin is right, the Handspring Visor uses a different connector than the Palm devices, and so they are not directly compatible cable-wise. You can get TTL level serial comms out of the Visor by hacking the USB cable they sell. Split open the (...) (25 years ago, 21-Nov-00, to lugnet.robotics)

Have you adapted the sensor to work with the rcx, or have you just taken out the light sensor? If you have adapted it successfully, how did you do it? (...) (25 years ago, 21-Nov-00, to lugnet.robotics)

  RE: Which Palm?

I think you're exactly correct John. There has to be very low level control of the port. The trick, I suspect, is that the control may not lie within the Palm SDK (which I suspect fully supports only IrDA), but rather with machine coding of the (...) (25 years ago, 21-Nov-00, to lugnet.robotics)
