  Re: How2 'count' in NQC

I want to thank everyone who helped with the double problem of switch de-bouncing and that loops can often count continuously while the switch is in actuation. There were good suggestions about removing delays from the code and 'counting' upon (...) (25 years ago, 4-Nov-00, to lugnet.robotics)

  Re: MOC: Radio Controlled Tank.

Tobbe, This is a nice looking model, especially with all the functions. As to more traction, you could use alternating regular chain links and tread links and mount a 1x4 plate on each tread link, studs out. I'm not sure how realistic this would (...)   AI in RCX

(...) AI on RCX] I will believe it when I actually see it. Until then, it remains to me a conceptual possibility (like all projects), but a practical impossibiltiy. My primary reason for suggesting that the goal of the project be reduced was to (...) (25 years ago, 4-Nov-00, to lugnet.robotics)

Don't forget to take a look at (URL) great site for this kind of stuff. - Christophe - (...) (25 years ago, 4-Nov-00, to lugnet.robotics)

Re: AI on RCX - oops

I forgot to metion.. a very good, and practical book on Neural Networks is "Machine Learning" by Tom M. Mitchell (1997). Includes theory and examples. But working with Finite State Machines is a much more reasonable starting point for RCX. rama (25 years ago, 4-Nov-00, to lugnet.robotics)

  Re: AI in RCX

You picked a challenging project. It is not possible for the RCX to do Neural Networks alone, since the RCX does not have the command set, and is not a fast enough processor to calculate the weights of the Neural Network. Also, the RCX doesn't have (...) (25 years ago, 4-Nov-00, to lugnet.robotics)

  Re: Motorized VC cam focusing

(...) Well i havent tried anything myself but i think the most effective way would be to use a tire in contact with the lens. You've probably tried that already, but it was the first thing that came to mind. hope it helps. (25 years ago, 4-Nov-00, to lugnet.robotics)

  Motorized VC cam focusing

Hi, I wonder if anybody has succeeded in building a motorized focus controller for the Vision Command cam. So far I have tried several ideas but none was very effective. I am looking for better ideas. Jan (25 years ago, 4-Nov-00, to lugnet.robotics)

  AI in RCX

I want to program AI into RCX that can avoid objects by the readings of 3 three ultra-sonic sensors. I am supposed to use Neural Network. But I difficult as the programming is limited by the RCX (even RCX 2.0 is used) Would you be kind enough to (...) (25 years ago, 4-Nov-00, to lugnet.robotics)

  Re: How2 'count' in NQC

In lugnet.robotics, Jerry Kalpin writes: [SNIP] (...) There is an EDGE mode available through the firmware that only counts transitions between pressed and non-pressed (actually some raw threshold value if I remember correctly) states. This sensor (...)
