  RE: The Datalog

(...) I'm not sure about that, but they certainly have disclaimers on the firmware itself, which prevents us from reverse engineering it. Now, the original intent was probably to prevent a competitor from designing a system which was compatible with (...) (25 years ago, 10-Oct-00, to lugnet.robotics)

  Re: The Datalog

I have noticed a number of comments about the RCX byte code system, including this thread, which would like to see some sort of datalog read function. My question is; Does Lego have a copyright on the byte code interpretation? If not, then wouldn't (...) (25 years ago, 10-Oct-00, to lugnet.robotics)

Re: Is Extreme Creatures Good? FOS stuff

(...) Yes. Of course. Those are the best ones. LED's are basically just Diodes that make light. So you can "Twist" two LED's together to get one on each polarity. Like I was saying above, my favorites are the tri-coloured LEDs... Dean -- Coin-Op's (...) (25 years ago, 10-Oct-00, to lugnet.market.shopping, lugnet.robotics.rcx, lugnet.robotics, lugnet.technic)

(...) Yes. Radio Schlock has a few: orange, definitely (but I think it's one of the 10mm "jumbos", so it wouldn't fit). And I'm pretty sure they have green in smaller sizes. BG Micro (www.bgmicro.com) has some real stunners, that have just hit the (...) (25 years ago, 10-Oct-00, to lugnet.robotics.rcx, lugnet.robotics, lugnet.technic, lugnet.market.shopping)

  NQC

I don't use this software.. But I thought I'd mention that NQC has been ported over to Beos. I saw a link on www.bebits.com <G> (25 years ago, 9-Oct-00, to lugnet.robotics)

Re: Is Extreme Creatures Good? FOS stuff

(...) If you don't use a tiny ultra bright one you won't get much... Also, the circuit it the thing is already making sure the power flows to the LED one way. So you'd have to disable that as well if you want the multicolour LED's. My favs are the (...)   Re: Is Extreme Creatures Good? FOS stuff

Has anyone cracked opened one of the FOS units? What is the light source? I assume that there is only one light source that is somehow distributed by the rotary action.   Cheap Mindstorms Motors

I noticed that Toys R US in central Ohio have deeply discounted Lego Znap products. I bought a 3552 for $9.97 in Columbus (Hamilton Rd) last week. Today I picked up models 3552 and 3571 for $4.90 each at TRU in Heath! Each includes a 9V motor (...) (25 years ago, 9-Oct-00, to lugnet.robotics)

Re: Why no 8450 or 8482 in US?

I have sneaking suspicion it has something to do with the fcc and the use of the 27MHz model control band. As I understand it, use of the 27MHz band in the US specifically prohibits the transmission of data, while it isn't so stringent in this (...) (25 years ago, 9-Oct-00, to lugnet.robotics)
