Re: Color images? (was: Re: digital camera entirely made of mindstorms?)

I tried this a little when I first made my robot using the red bat wings that come with the set, and I couldn't get a good image through one of them. One of the big problems is that the sensor is mostly infrared, with some red sensitivity. I haven't (...) (25 years ago, 28-Sep-00, to lugnet.robotics)

RE: New to Lego bots - Where to get Technic parts?

I'd strongly recommend the Code Pilot set. ((URL) 1,263 pieces, including TWO clutch gears, lots of other gears, a motor, two touch sensors, and cables. Normal retail is about $150 US, but Shop@Home had it last Christmas as a special for $100. Doug (...) (25 years ago, 28-Sep-00, to lugnet.robotics)

Re: New to Lego bots - Where to get Technic parts?

(...) The Technic Space Shuttle 8480 is a superb parts package, so good in fact that I bought two of them in a sale. Perhaps the down side for Mindstorms folks is that the large motor supplied is an old style 9V one. The smaller one is a (...) (25 years ago, 28-Sep-00, to lugnet.robotics)

New to Lego bots - Where to get Technic parts?

Hello everybody, I just signed on this list and I am completely new to Lego-based robotics -- but I am quite excited about it all! If I had only had this when I was a kid! (And had more free time!) Anyway, I do have an opening question. I've visited (...) (25 years ago, 27-Sep-00, to lugnet.robotics)

  Re: Pneumatic pump for Roverbot

That a great idea. But how do you control the pressure, as it is pumping all the time. I suppose you could vent it until a minute before you intend to use the compressed air... I like the Roverbot because it moves slowly and has a lot of torque. (...) (25 years ago, 27-Sep-00, to lugnet.robotics)

  RE: NQC Debug Question

Yes, it needed a semicolon. Ironically, I'd specifically checked for semicolons before posting. Ah, well, back to proofreading class.   NQC Debug Question

I hate to bring this to the group, but I'm puzzled. I *finally* got over procrastinating about biting the NQC bullet ... but the following program gives me "parse errors" on lines 8 (repeat 10) and 19 (the penultimate "]". Help! Where have I gone (...) (25 years ago, 27-Sep-00, to lugnet.robotics)

Re: Color images? (was: Re: digital camera entirely made of mindstorms?)

In theory, yes I believe it could be done, however I would be concerned that a 1x2 filter would be so thick as to distort the image drastically... better to take a sheet of transparency material and print a red, green and blue spot and attach it (...) (25 years ago, 27-Sep-00, to lugnet.robotics)

Re: Color images? (was: Re: digital camera entirely made of mindstorms?)

(...) Ok, so it's uncouth to reply to my own messages, but more on the color blending: -each filter could be 2 1x2 trans bricks-- the red filter would be green & blue, green would be red & blue, blue would be red & green -you'd also have a 4th (...) (25 years ago, 27-Sep-00, to lugnet.robotics)
