Hi Paul, (...) It depends on the language/environment you want to use. The NXT-G software that comes with it, only runs on Windows and OSX. But there are alternatives like nxc/nbc ((URL) is a C like language and it runs on Linux and FreeBSD (which (...) (17 years ago, 3-May-08, to lugnet.robotics)

(...) It depends on your hardware. Are you running your OS on IA32/x86 hardware? If so, then you can use the NXT with your OS using some of my utilities. See this NXTASY thread for details about running NBC and NeXTTool under Ubuntu with built-in (...) (17 years ago, 5-May-08, to lugnet.robotics)
