(...) _ALWAYS_ assume DC on an actual power adapter (at least in the US). Most AC devices will just use a simple cord, like you'd find on a portable stereo. (...) The one used for the RCX may be, but the NXT power supply is sold as a different item, and is listed as a 10VAC adapter vs. the 9VAC adapters used by trains and various other systems. (...) I now have a Dynamic Instruments 16VAC 375mA, AT&T AC 9V 800mA, and a Black & Decker 9V 200mA from a Dust Buster but it does not say if it is DC or AC, I am assuming AC. Which one should I use? (...) I once came across a box full of old wall wart power supplies at a rummage sale and after digging through it for 10 minutes or so I found three that had 12V AC and the correct plug for the RCX.
