  Re: Proximity Sensors for Legway

Hi Guys I have just updated the videos at (URL) It has balanced for several minutes on the kitchen floor in the mov00001 cofiguration.... but usually I start playing with the remote and that eventually throws it. I wasn't convinced before but I (...) (22 years ago, 12-Nov-03, to lugnet.robotics.rcx)

  Re: Motor Power

(...) I've built a rudimentary motion control system with Mindstorms, but as the motors are not really steppers, I found I had some precision issues. Pulsing and timing never really got close enough for a repeatable move. You can use rotation (...) (22 years ago, 12-Nov-03, to lugnet.robotics)

Re: I'm passing the NQC torch...

Dear Dave, Thank you so much for your great contribution to the Mindstorms-community!!! Best regards, Dirk P.S.: John, all our hopes (trustfully) rely on you now! (22 years ago, 12-Nov-03, to lugnet.robotics.rcx.nqc)

  Re: Motor Power

(...) Heavens, yes. I haven't done any heavy movement myself, but I've been awed in particular by TJ Avery and Beat Felber: TJ: (URL) Yes, that's a twenty-pound barbell. Beat: (URL) I don't know for sure, but there's gotta be 50 pounds of plastic in (...) (22 years ago, 12-Nov-03, to lugnet.robotics)

  Re: Motors on Sensor ports

(...) Yeah... I wonder if that's a hardware limitation... (...) Well, that defeats the purpose... and I'm almost positive that powering a sensor port with 9v is a bad idea. (...) I dunno. Is it possible (I'm still in gr12 physics) that a circuit (...) (22 years ago, 12-Nov-03, to lugnet.robotics.rcx)

  Motor Power

Hi all, I'm a lurker/newbie. I'm wanting to build a controlled platform that can move and rotate (sort of like a turtle using LOGO). I'd like this platform to carry my E-10 camera (weighs 37 oz./1048 grams). Can anything using the RCX/mindstorms (...) (22 years ago, 12-Nov-03, to lugnet.robotics)

  Re: 4095 Record and Play

(...) Could you tell what the angular resolution of the slotted wheel was? Thanks, Mark (22 years ago, 12-Nov-03, to lugnet.robotics)

Re: One Input - Two Outputs?

(...) Well, I think this is going to work. Do you have any pictures of the logic/gearing used downline from the transmission? I am concerned with how the worm gear makes the transition from front to back and the resulting interaction with the drive (...) (22 years ago, 12-Nov-03, to lugnet.technic, lugnet.robotics)

  Re: Motors on Sensor ports

(...) One thing you will find, is that you can't drive the motor backwards. Well, it won't go one direction. The direction depends on the wiring. Actually, that's just if you hook it to a motor port, AND a sensor port. I don't know how bad it is, (...) (22 years ago, 12-Nov-03, to lugnet.robotics.rcx)

Re: I'm passing the NQC torch...

A few hours after I was working with my brand new RIS kit, I knew the programming environment was too limited for my needs. Thanks God there was NQC out there, very young but already very solid, offering an entire new world of possibilities. Without (...) (22 years ago, 12-Nov-03, to lugnet.robotics.rcx.nqc)
