  Re: RIS 3.0

Now that is freaking awesome - but do they supply the same amount of torque as the 'standard' ones do? Also, that gearbox 2, looks nice and all, might come in handy, but I prefer having more control over my placment of gears. I think it would be (...) (22 years ago, 22-Aug-03, to lugnet.robotics)

  Lego Mindstorms SDK 2.5

I am unable to extract the Lego Mindstorms SDK 2.5. Inside the zip file is just a Windows executable which does not seem to be either a zip or rar self extracting archive, does anyone know where to get a copy of it in a normal archive format, or how (...)   Re: RCX convert from AA to Wall power.

Wow, I'm sure glad I have the RCX 1.0 with the power jack... I didn't even know the newer ones didn't have it until I started to visit LUGNET...It's something I couldn't live without, not to mention the battery contacts are unreliable... (...) (22 years ago, 21-Aug-03, to lugnet.robotics.rcx)

Re: USB vs Serial Tower Response Time

Wow, that answers a lot of questions, all but one: why is the USB's 'long range' shorter than the Serial's distance? Was my speculation of the available power true?   Re: RCX & RIS, a fading glory?

I'm getting one for Christmas. The pneumatic parts in it are the new style, though. That means the big cylinders no longer have that "brick" at the bottom of them to attach to studs. All there is now is the Technice hole at the bottom. (22 years ago, 21-Aug-03, to lugnet.robotics)

Re: RCX & RIS, a fading glory?

Yes, you are on to something. Many industrial robots are "programmed" in much the same way. The operator "teaches" it which movements to make using manual controls, and then the robot can do those movements over and over again without error. In the (...)
