I have a cat and a dog (Welsh Terrier) and one of my goals with Lego Robotics is to make a Rover which is fun for my pets. I got a simple idea of how to make the Rover detect a moving object (like a pet). You need RIS, build the Roverbot with the (...) (23 years ago, 4-Jan-03, to lugnet.robotics)

I don't know about other places, but here cell phone service is expensive to use as a robot communication method. Perhaps a "personal radio" (They have a range of about 2 miles) would be better, and data could be transmitted through tones. ----- (...) (23 years ago, 4-Jan-03, to lugnet.robotics)

Hi, I got the USB IR-tower to work under linux using the same patch Florian used. I also sent an updated patch that applies to 0.2.6.09 to the original author of the patch. ...Problem Solved #include <lnp/lnp-logical.h> lnp_logical_range(1); I set the IR transmission range to far and everything works fine. While attempting to build brickOS under DJGPP I noticed a few discrepancies across the makefiles using the variable makedepend. Does anyone have any first-hand experience of electronic equipment being damaged by airport X-rays in carry-on or checked baggage? Is it just an urban myth?
