(...) Derek, what you need to assess is how stable you need a reading (I guess you want an heading). A compass needs a stable platform to provide you with a decent value. Any acceleration (turning is a kind of acceleration) is going to spoil you (...) (23 years ago, 19-Jun-02, to lugnet.robotics)

Yes, very odd. After I signed in and copied the link, I got to the NQC file. Thanks. I'm using NScape 4.76. Never recall having that happen before. I'm surprised they don't have an errata on the book. I've noted at least 5-6 obvious errors in the (...) (23 years ago, 19-Jun-02, to lugnet.robotics)

Joel, I had planned on another post to provide a link to the code sample, but have run very short on time. I will try to get that up soon. I believe the sensor handling issue is a real issue. However, I have yet to see a simple solution that (...) (23 years ago, 19-Jun-02, to lugnet.robotics.rcx.legos)

(...) Usually, if your robot starts perpendicular to the line, it will move like it's in a sharp turn, and then it will proceed to follow the line. (sometimes, a 90 degree turn is allowed in the course) Generally, with this type of thing (line (...) (23 years ago, 19-Jun-02, to lugnet.robotics)

Thanks. When I do that I get to a page with a number of book titles on the left. I then select the Mindstorms book, and get to a page that appears to just advertise (add to cart) the book. It shows a table of contents, and off to the right mentions (...) (23 years ago, 19-Jun-02, to lugnet.robotics)

I think I've discovered my hangup with the redraw capability. It is likely that it does not need a line following method. After one set of three petals is drawn, all one needs to do is to detect where the last line drawn is, which shouldn't be very (...) (23 years ago, 19-Jun-02, to lugnet.robotics)

I'm just getting into MS RIS 2.0 and started looking at some of the suggested code for line following. It's generally clear, but it looks like it's best used when a robot is placed parallel to the start of a line and on the line. I'll probably build (...) (23 years ago, 19-Jun-02, to lugnet.robotics)
