send message from ir-tower to rcx

hi list! i want to send a single-byte message from the serial ir-tower to the rcx, preferrably with visual basic. a program running on the host pc should send/recieve message to/from the rcx. what i found up to now is: - sending messages from the (...)   Re: Will TLC continue to support Scout?

At the risk of being flamed for "me too"ism.. I bought an RDS in mid-2000 while on business in the US (honest!), for my 7,10 + 12 year old's to get the hang of simple programming. I then grabbed NQC and downloaded the Scout SDK (before TLC removed (...) (24 years ago, 11-Jan-02, to lugnet.robotics.scout)

  Re: site update

(...) Hi Mike, I was the designer. You could add a link to the Torsen on my page: (URL) said you made improvements to the design, but I couldn't tell what changed... Rob Stehlik (btw, you forgot the link to your own site:) (URL) (24 years ago, 11-Jan-02, to lugnet.robotics, lugnet.technic)

Re: Using the Differential to drive straight.

(...) I suspect there are two different issues being discussed here. One is to be able to go straight in some known direction. The other is be able to go straight. If you have a direction to go in, because you have a light beacon or a compass or a (...) (24 years ago, 11-Jan-02, to lugnet.robotics)

Re: Using the Differential to drive straight.

I tried both of the drive trains in the Ferrari's book and still had problems getting the robot to to travel a straight line. The design they suggest was a huge improvement over a non-feedback direct differential drive, still I need precision for a (...) (24 years ago, 11-Jan-02, to lugnet.robotics)

Re: Using the Differential to drive straight.

I don't have the book either. Did Mario and Giulio seem to think this selectable torque locking helped in helping a robot travel straighter or turn more consistently? I had initially intended this to be a sort of transmission to give the option of (...) (24 years ago, 11-Jan-02, to lugnet.robotics)

Re: Will TLC continue to support Scout?

dunno if TLC pays attention to this newsgroup, but i'm with you. bought the Robotics Discovery Set for my 7 year old nephew. i specifically wanted one he could use without having to fire up the PC, or learning how to program on the PC. plenty of (...)   Re: Anyone there?

(...) Isn't the IR system that the RCX already uses wireless? Or do you mean radio as opposed to IR? If you mean radio, what aspect of RCX communications do you wish to transport via radio - data that usually goes via IR? - some form of information (...)   Re: Using the Differential to drive straight.

I don't have this book yet. Can it be done with parts ONLY from the RIS set? --Jack Gregory Russell Nelson <lego-robotics@crynwr.com> wrote in message news:15423.9463.8629...nwr.com... (...) people (...) following (...) them (...) (24 years ago, 11-Jan-02, to lugnet.robotics)

  Re: Anyone there?

hi Mike, (...) Yes I'm interested, I've just made my first steps with an IR remote control, which should also be capable of receiving data form the RCX. I'm also interested in more sophisticated technics as blue-tooth. And of course one the great (...) (24 years ago, 11-Jan-02, to lugnet.robotics.tele)
