  Re: Bummer!!!

Other books have covered the varieties of firmwares and OSs for the RIS. The subject matter of my now-postponed LEGO Mindstorms book is in a different direction. pbForth gets all of one paragraph...not a comment on pbForth, just an editorial (...) (24 years ago, 9-Dec-01, to lugnet.robotics)

  Re: learning RoboLab (long)

(...) Miles, thanks for posting that long catalog of available reference material for ROBOLAB. I too have been through the frustrating experience of finding learning resources. ROBOLAB is good software because it is in the spirit of LEGO, where you (...)   Re: Name of Robolab RCX2 Firmware file?

(...) Those sound like they might be firmware files. NQC expects the firmware to be in S-record format. Do all the lines begin with an upper case S and then have lots of hex digits? If so, they are probably firmware files. I'm not sure why there are (...) (24 years ago, 8-Dec-01, to lugnet.robotics)

  Re: Bummer!!!

(...) I've just recently joined the list and started to mess with Lego Mindstorms, so I hope this comment isn't redundant. I'm really unhappy with the attitude towards Forth in the O'Reilly book, I hope you will portray it in a more favorable light. (...) (24 years ago, 8-Dec-01, to lugnet.robotics)

  Re: Bummer!!!

Sorry you were disappointed. I decided to postpone the book for a year or so to wait for better market conditions. Far too many LEGO Mindstorms books have been released recently for mine to get any decent shelf-space or mind-share. I want to let the (...) (24 years ago, 8-Dec-01, to lugnet.robotics)

Re: Name of Robolab RCX2 Firmware file?

Name of Robolab RCX2 Firmware file?

Hi, Does anyone know the name of the RCX2 firmware file that came with Robolab 2.5? There are two files called firmware.txt and firmware325.txt. Both are dated Y2K. Is one of these the RCX2 firmware? I'm moving from Robolab to NQC, and I want to be (...) (24 years ago, 8-Dec-01, to lugnet.robotics)

  Scout SDK missing from mindstorms.lego.com?

Hi, Plese forgive a newbie here. I just tried to get the Scout SDK from the Lego website but their ASP pages report various errors and I can't get the files. Would someone be kind enough to help me obtain the software? Thanks in advance! Chris (...) (24 years ago, 8-Dec-01, to lugnet.robotics.scout, lugnet.robotics)

  USB, Windows, legOS

Attention everyone trying or have gotten the USB IR tower to work under windows running legOS.   RE: Magnetic Levitator

We tried using the Handyboard (which is faster than RCX) and it could not do it. I think the RCX is not fast enough for UNSATBLE control systems such as magnetic levitation, etc. A while back, I proposed the inverted pendulum problem as a challenge, (...)
