Re: Cudo's to 4910 and an Ugh to 4950

(...) Yes, it does indeed have the sloped control stand in teal. I was a bit surprised to find this part myself, I admit. And the grey odd "plate" which forms the base of the vehicle is really cute. It looks pretty much like an AT-AT feet, I think. (...) (25 years ago, 1-Oct-99, to lugnet.underground, lugnet.reviews)

Re: Cudo's to 4910 and an Ugh to 4950

Does it have the sloped control stand in teal, or are my eyes deceiving me? (BTW I need one of those in white if someone has some, I can trade grey or black for it) Just think, a 6990 Futuron monoral with teal accents, wouldn't that look cool?   Cudo's to 4910 and an Ugh to 4950

I just thought I would throw in by 2 cents worth on these 2 sets. First let me say that I do not personally own 4950 but my nephiew got it recently and I helped him put it together so I have first hand knowledge. Personally I think 4950 ( (URL) ) is (...)   Re: Does anyone have the 8479 bar code truck?

(...) I haven't opened my Robotics Discovery Set yet, but from the box, it looks like it comes with 2 clutch gears. The RIS really should have come with clutch gears. (25 years ago, 29-Sep-99, to lugnet.reviews)

Pontoon Plane vs. Biwing Baron (Re: My favorite Adventurer sets)

(...) Hi, Kevin. I originally gave a response here: (URL) I'll try to give some abbreviated comments again here. I guess my main gripe with the PP is that the two sets of wings are too close together (in my opinion the upper wings should be above (...)   Re: My favorite Adventurer sets

(...) Yes, they are called Tail Draggers because it appears that they are dragging their tails, not because they actually do. Tail Draggers are harder to take off in, you have to do a series of S turns in order to actually see down the runway. And (...) (25 years ago, 27-Sep-99, to lugnet.adventurers, lugnet.reviews)

  Re: My favorite Adventurer sets

(...) Yes , they did have a skid of some type. I put the term "tail draggers" in quotes because I think that was the nick name of the style of landing gear, as opposed to the tripod or "tricycle" style which has a wheel under the front nose and two (...)   Re: My favorite Adventurer sets

(...) They mostly had at least a skid under the tail. I can't think of a plane that actually dragged the back end of the fusalage and the trailing edge of the tailplane along the ground like the BB does. Those WWI and earlier planes were so lightly (...) (25 years ago, 27-Sep-99, to lugnet.adventurers, lugnet.reviews)

  Re: My favorite Adventurer sets

(...) Some of the WW1 planes are "tail-draggers" On my LEGO models I add the LEGO piece thats looks like a 1x2 plate with two rods attached to either end. Lots easier on the tail : ) (...) you dont see the strings tied to the triggers? <grin> (...) (...) (25 years ago, 26-Sep-99, to lugnet.adventurers, lugnet.reviews)

Re: Does anyone have the 8479 bar code truck?

(...) Yeah, that post was mine. And I almost posted exactly what you just said, but then I realized exactly how much the bar-code set costs. It's nice that these gears are available somewhere else, but it's not exactly an easily accessible somewhere (...) (25 years ago, 26-Sep-99, to lugnet.reviews)

Re: Does anyone have the 8479 bar code truck?

(...) These clutch gears are the same as those on: (URL) (1) I remember a post a few weeks ago stating that they only appeared in the Motorset #8735. If the Barcode Truck has two of these the set becomes even more interesting. Rengenier (1) sorry, (...) (25 years ago, 26-Sep-99, to lugnet.reviews)

Re: Does anyone have the 8479 bar code truck?

(...) Hi Dennis One of the interesting but not clearly documented parts of the Code pilot Brick is the little white star wheel optical activator. you can program the brick to "activate" when the star wheel is turned. One way would be to set it to (...) (25 years ago, 26-Sep-99, to lugnet.reviews)

  This is a Throwbot?

I just bought throwbots Scuba and Jet. I thought I would like these but, umm... First of all, they don't even stand up. Second of all, I don't Understand how they transform. Third of all, they definatly need a better way of disc-throwing. And Forth (...) (25 years ago, 26-Sep-99, to lugnet.technic, lugnet.reviews)

Re: Does anyone have the 8479 bar code truck?

(...) One. (...) The controller has only one motor output, as well as one input for touch sensor. Thesedays I use it solely as a fancy battery box. (...) A touch sensor. You can see it from the picture in the S@H catalog. (...) You get a decent mix (...) (25 years ago, 25-Sep-99, to lugnet.reviews)

Re: Does anyone have the 8479 bar code truck?

Hi Dennis, (...) Only one of the new geared-down motors. (...) There is no "steering by controller" in the models given in the instructions. You could of course rig something. (...) A touch sensor is used to trigger the grabber. (...) The controller (...) (25 years ago, 24-Sep-99, to lugnet.reviews)

Does anyone have the 8479 bar code truck?

Has no one done a revue on the bar code multiset truck? Its a pretty pricey Technic kit, but it does look interesting. My questions: How many motors? Can the controller steer as well as drive? What triggers the "grabber" than can be used? Other (...) (25 years ago, 24-Sep-99, to lugnet.reviews)

Re: Insectoids - better than I thought, Rock Raiders - disappointment

(...) sub-theme (...) dark (...) pre-printed (...) Hmmm. That's the opposite of what I thought. I like the 4970 Chrome crusher, but I don't like the Tunnel Transport. The Insectoids, to me, were not very cool. I got the 6969 Celestial Stinger for (...) (25 years ago, 21-Sep-99, to lugnet.space, lugnet.reviews, lugnet.underground)

  Re: My favorite Adventurer sets

(...) Agree wholeheartly! I have converted the biplane into a two-seater. Then I put a female skeleton (i.e., skeleton with a wig) into the front seat, to stage that gruesome scene from the English Patient. (I tried using a mummy instead of a (...)
