Hi Dennis,

In lugnet.reviews, Dennis Clark writes:
Has no one done a revue on the bar code multiset truck?  Its a pretty pricey
Technic kit, but it does look interesting.
My questions:
How many motors?

Only one of the new geared-down motors.

Can the controller steer as well as drive?

There is no "steering by controller" in the models given in the
instructions.  You could of course rig something.

What triggers the "grabber" than can be used?

A touch sensor is used to trigger the grabber.

Other useful abilities?

The controller has only one motor output and one sensor input and is
programmed by a sheet of barcodes.  These provide different sounds, motor
speeds, time delays and touch sensor actions -- certainly not as
powerful as the RCX but more fun than a plain battery box.  On the
reverse side of the barcode sheet is a piano-like keyboard with codes
to make the controller produce different tones -- kinda hokey but still,
we've had fun in our house with this function, too.  I like the set,
personally.  I like the color scheme and the parts selection, (lots of
green).

One down side to the main model is the fact that it requires two motors
to realize all the functions and the set only provides one.

I've only built two of the models, the big truck and the small walking
robot.   Be sure and have fresh batteries in for the walker.

Go for it.

as evah,

John C.
