For some time now, I've had issues with my dorky little Kodak digital camera (4 years old) and getting the color right on some lego ABS pieces when they are the only non-white color on a white background. (...) I've found that if good light sources are not available, you can still get a great picture if your camera has some manual settings. (...) photographing extreme closeups, though, which is a big thing with Lego. Plenty of the correct amount of light is the key for me when taking pictures. (...) I was just about to say that. Saying that anything less than a 3MP camera and you won't be happy with the quality is a little absurd. (...) Those features sound similar to what I have (a several year old Olympus) and I'm perfectly happy with it. Even 1.3 megapixels (1280x1024) is more than you need for photographing LEGO models. 640x480 is about the right resolution for publishing (...) Now, wait a minute. Not everybody can get $400 cameras for Christmas, and not everybody can afford to spend an extra $200 or $300, The camera costs about $100, but the reviews I found are great, they say that it's 'good for it's price.' 1.3 (...)
