We could use this format, but it's a little bit harder for computers to
parse. Not a big deal, especially for perl (of course :), but maybe we
want to go with a more machine-friendly format?

This would be the equivilent of the date you listed above.

I've really fallen for the idea of having lang/lot there. If we can't
have it there, can we perhaps add it in another field? It would make it
SO easy to find how far events are... :)
