  Re: Redesigning my site...

(...) Ught. I wonder how many people I'm locking out if I continue to design my site with 4.x or better browsers in mind? IE has a beta of 5 out - tried it but don't like betas of IE on my system. Didn't know Communicator/Navigator had released a (...) (26 years ago, 8-Jan-99, to lugnet.publish)

  Re: Redesigning my site...

(...) Netscape 5 has only been released through the open source group Mozilla.org. You can get daily builds, but they don't include much besides the rendering engine, and there's no assurance it will run in the first place. I am looking forward to (...) (26 years ago, 8-Jan-99, to lugnet.publish)

  Re: Redesigning my site...

(...) They, (and me) have only themselves to blame for not upgrading. I have just been to lazy to do the download. -- Terry K -- (26 years ago, 8-Jan-99, to lugnet.publish)

  Re: Redesigning my site...

(...) Well, for you (I guess) and most people (I assume), downloading a 4.x browser is a hefty chunk of time. Much easier to do it when you can grab it in a couple of minutes or less at work. I do that and either carry it home on removable media (...) (26 years ago, 8-Jan-99, to lugnet.publish)

  Re: Redesigning my site...

(...) Sorry, I'm still having a lot of fun using this new toy. :( (26 years ago, 9-Jan-99, to lugnet.publish)

  Re: Redesigning my site...

(...) It was just the envy speaking..... I have no prospects for fast net service anytime soon. Heck, my phone lines even fail the USR line-noise test, so I haven't even bothered trying a 56K modem. I am sorta out in the sticks here, so no cable (...) (26 years ago, 9-Jan-99, to lugnet.publish)

  Re: Redesigning my site...

(...) Hrmmm.... a quick estimate would be... 70 megs in about 50 minutes or so? Not good with the math. I probably have 150 megs to download tonight, but it's all smaller files and backups. I'll have to time it for you. :) (26 years ago, 9-Jan-99, to lugnet.publish)

  Re: Redesigning my site...

(...) Well, me - both 4 versions are way too heavyweight to do any surfing with (I'm in the habit of using about 4 windows at the same time, actively, so I can read while stuff gets downloaded :) Jasper (26 years ago, 13-Jan-99, to lugnet.publish)

  Re: Redesigning my site...

(...) Time to upgrade. :) When this beginning of the semester rush is over I will get some time to actually work on my site, so I guess I need to think about this "writing for the people with old browsers" issue. I'm not inclined to worry about it, (...) (26 years ago, 13-Jan-99, to lugnet.publish)

  Re: Redesigning my site...

(...) I just did! (Communicator 4.5) I hope to do more with CSS and would like to see what the capabilities of Netscape Composer are... --Bram Bram Lambrecht / o o \ BramL@juno.com ---...---oooo-----(_...o---...--- WWW: (URL) (26 years ago, 13-Jan-99, to lugnet.publish)

  Re: Redesigning my site...

(...) Well, continuously, when cash is available and Lego isn;'t on sale :) (which is the same thing :) ) (...) Well If a site is cool enopugh I fire up Explorer 4. But most sites tend to work fine in scape 3, luckily :) Jasper (26 years ago, 18-Jan-99, to lugnet.publish)
