  Re: The Pirate Glossary

(...) Ah ha! I have not a single pirate set! Only Vikings! But yes, the Kraken is inspired by pirate folklore so you have me there! Space pirates! Now there's an idea! Woot! Cheers! ~ Paul. (18 years ago, 20-Jan-07, to lugnet.pirates, FTX)

  Re: The Pirate Glossary

(...) What kind of Lego do you have? ...Your recent (URL) Kraken pics> indicate you have quite an impressive knack for building galleys and medieval ships (a few of which are in the list of ship-types here). ...or of course, you could always build (...)   Re: The Pirate Glossary

(...) After reading your Pirate Glossary I have come to realize that I am a pirate. And I have no pirate lego to speak of, so now I'm depressed. Paul. (18 years ago, 17-Jan-07, to lugnet.pirates, FTX)

(...) Thanks. Very handy and comprehensive. This should encourage me a little more to build some sailing vessels. Tim (18 years ago, 15-Jan-07, to lugnet.pirates, FTX)

  The Pirate Glossary

Ahoy! Taking a cue from Larry, Tim, etc. and their (URL) Train Glossary>, I decided to pull this together: (URL) The Pirate (aka Age of Sail) Glossary> I've always been confused by the myriad different terms for ships and their parts. And as I was (...) (18 years ago, 15-Jan-07, to lugnet.pirates, lugnet.announce, FTX) !

Re: The L’Administraeur Rouge (a two decked brig in Port Brique!)

(...) Yes and no. That pic of l'Administrateur shows something missing - because that's a view where the (upper) ratlines would normally be highlighted against the sails. There is definitely space to run long ratlines to the upper platforms. An (...) (18 years ago, 4-Jan-07, to lugnet.pirates, FTX)

Re: The L’Administraeur Rouge (a two decked brig in Port Brique!)

(...) Is it just me or is there a set of rigging missing from the masts between the lower and upper platforms? (Sorry proper terminology unkown.) In general however this ship is magnificent! (18 years ago, 4-Jan-07, to lugnet.pirates, FTX)

  Re: (MOC) 3-gun Gaff-Rigged Sloop RTS Am-a-realego

(...) Thanks, I think so... but then they the "right" colors!! (...) I was fun to build these two little ships. It was a break in the monster of a lego project I am working on now. I may put up some of the pieces of this monster project I have built (...) (18 years ago, 4-Jan-07, to lugnet.pirates, FTX)

Re: The L’Administraeur Rouge (a two decked brig in Port Brique!)

(...) Good work CO Richie, hope we get to see this IRL late January, it's probably worth going ahead with the extended remix plans, if you have the extra centre hull sections sourced. -pete.w (18 years ago, 4-Jan-07, to lugnet.pirates, FTX)

The L’Administraeur Rouge (a two decked brig in Port Brique!)

Ahoy, Since the settlement of Port Brique in 1801, there has been a wide variety of vessels calling it home. But no two deckers. Until now. Although wide and ungainly, brig-rigged L’Administrateur Rouge packs a broadside seldom matched, while her (...) (18 years ago, 4-Jan-07, to lugnet.pirates, lugnet.announce.moc, FTX) !!
