My biggest concern with adding draught is the added complexity for not that
much gain. I also don't want to encourage people to decide they're better
off running two cutters (which can easily explore twice as many islands)...
Actually, an easy way to make islands hard to approach by larger ships is to
put some offshore rocks (could be as simple as scattering some grey 2x2 and
2x4 bricks, or you could build little 3-10 piece rocks).
In general though, as Larry has mentioned, the islands are so close together
that making it even harder to maneuver large ships will detract from the
game rather than improve it.
