  Re: Misérable

(...) Thanks! (...) The fore and mainmasts are quite fragile... the main is based on a 2x2x11 (IIRC) round brick, the fore on several 2x2's. That, combined with the high-mounted ratlines prevents them being too strong. The fore-and-aft rigging helps (...) (22 years ago, 23-Apr-03, to lugnet.pirates)

Richie, WOW, That is one awesome vessel! I really liked the masts and the sails, very detailed. This is really impressive, how much does it weigh? Congratulations on an awesome accomplishment. Jon (22 years ago, 22-Apr-03, to lugnet.pirates)

Re: Building a Ship of the Line (was Re: Ships (was Re: My Ships))

(...) The very same idea occured to me when I was building HMS Flame the first time – I was trying to approximate the forward hull of a smooth-lined ship, and I had four of those from an aqua set of some sort... my problem came in trying to get (...) (22 years ago, 22-Apr-03, to lugnet.pirates)

Building a Ship of the Line (was Re: Ships (was Re: My Ships))

(...) <snip> (...) While I still think the big issue is hulls, I was dissassembling an Ogel underwater base last night, and have begun wondering about (URL) as the basis for a big ship. Not that the Misérable isn't big enough for me at the moment, (...) (22 years ago, 22-Apr-03, to lugnet.pirates)

  Re: Compatible?

(...) I think not... the profile seems too rounded and too tall, and the texture is different. (...) No problem for me ;-) Is it just me, or do others think that Mega-blox is increasingly going down the route of large, specialised pieces that we (...)   Re: Compatible?

I've seen the same image and wondered. I very much doubt these keels will be compatible with TLC hulls, but depending on how many of those decorations can be stripped off, you might be left with a hull base suitable for a pirate-era ship -- albeit (...)   Re: Compatible?

(...) The smaller parts (bricks & accessories) are compatible (Purists may not like them on Purity grounds), but the hulls themselves almost certainly will not be. You're right about the rocks-at-sea and historical-compatibility issues, though! (...) (22 years ago, 21-Apr-03, to lugnet.pirates, lugnet.castle)

  Re: Compatible?

Those heavily armored knights would sink like rocks out at sea. I'm not sure if the parts are compatible, but I'm sure it's not historically compatible. ;) -Aaron "Richard Noeckel" <shroud_of_kung_fu@hotmail.com> wrote in message (...) (22 years ago, 21-Apr-03, to lugnet.pirates, lugnet.castle)

  Compatible?

~Dragons Man O’War £49.99 July: (URL) you think these hulls will be compatible with TLC’s hulls. There looks to be some adequate Pirate accessories. Of course, this is only for those who aren’t purist! Thanx, --==Richard==-- Oh and, for the a few of (...) (22 years ago, 21-Apr-03, to lugnet.pirates, lugnet.castle)

Re: Fusilers, Fog, and Mysterious Newcomers – and a Lovely Newfoundland Morning

(...) Much ablidged, though it's only slightly bigger than that of Port Brique... : )Don't worry, we're looking in to recruiting more Riflemen to bolster the force, and I'm toying with a hussar idea (though 'toying' is the only word for it right (...) (22 years ago, 20-Apr-03, to lugnet.pirates)
