Re: galleon (ISCC entry) then drifting off into an MOC of my own...

Hello Michael (...) You should guys learn Latin :) /Contignatio/ means "floor", "roof". (...) I've used two 2x1 plates with arm. (...) Well, it's very nice, I like the idea of cannons hidden under the maindeck. (...) "W Szczebrzeszynie chrzaszcz (...) (23 years ago, 10-Jan-02, to lugnet.pirates)

Re: galleon (ISCC entry) then drifting off into an MOC of my own...

(...) Hmmm... there's an idea - front-rudder steering :) What if the triangular sail was used as a kind of gaff, i.e. RBR style? Would that be 'acceptable'? Michael Dallaston (who's very good at making gaffes :P) (23 years ago, 11-Jan-02, to lugnet.pirates)

  Re: the rereleased pirate sets

I'd like to see new pirate sets. Sure, it's cheaper to re-release, but Lego creates dozens of new sets every year, and from what we've seen in recent times they could do a lot worse than a revamp of (what seems) a popular theme. (...) I always (...) (23 years ago, 11-Jan-02, to lugnet.pirates)

Re: galleon (ISCC entry) then drifting off into an MOC of my own...

(...) Arrrr, I be despisin' them lubbers at Lego fer turnin' 'round their lateen sail aftbackwards, iffn you be excusin' me french. Gives designers the wrong idea. Next they'll 'ave their bowsprits afoul their rudders and they'll be well an' truly (...) (23 years ago, 10-Jan-02, to lugnet.pirates)

  Re: the rereleased pirate sets

(...) plus, maybe creating newer moulds in case the older moulds were damaged, lost, or thrown away, or maybe just need an upgrade to update them to newer moulding machines. (...) plus, the "newer" sets probably easier to find more of the moulds... (...) (23 years ago, 10-Jan-02, to lugnet.pirates)

  Re: the rereleased pirate sets

(...) rereleasing old sets costs a lot less. They don't have to do any set design, they don't have to make instructions, and they don't have to do any playtesting. They did design a new box for these, but that is probably a very minor cost compared (...) (23 years ago, 10-Jan-02, to lugnet.pirates)

  the rereleased pirate sets

why didn't lego just make new sets? also why release only the big ones, and the newer one a that. i'd hve loved a black seas baricuda or something. i feal t least one smaller set could have been done. like one of the island forts. (23 years ago, 10-Jan-02, to lugnet.pirates)

Re: galleon (ISCC entry) then drifting off into an MOC of my own...

(...) Arrr, it's swabbin' the condignation for you, me hearty, arrr arrr etc :) I must admit I've never heard it either. (...) I never seem to have enough mast bases, so sometimes I just use a 2x2 tile with the technic pin sticking out the top. I (...) (23 years ago, 10-Jan-02, to lugnet.pirates)

  Re: galleon (ISCC entry)

Hello Bruce, (...) Er... well... I thought I've heard this word in English... :) Condignation=floor. (...) Unfortunatelly, it was unintended, I've just lost somewhere my mast base, so the foremast is attached provisional to the deck. But thank you (...) (23 years ago, 8-Jan-02, to lugnet.pirates)

Re: Building with elements from X-Wing 7191?

(...) Well first you might wanna take a look at www.peeron.com/inv and type in 7191 to see the inventory for that set. It has a bunch of pieces that could be used for any theme, not just Star Wars. LOTS of plates in various colours. If you're (...) (23 years ago, 7-Jan-02, to lugnet.pirates)

  Re: galleon (ISCC entry)

(...) I was still trying to figure out what "condignational" means! :-) It's very nice. What struck me though was that the foremast and mainmain do not appear to be parallel. Is this illusion, intentional, or simply because you bumped one before you (...) (23 years ago, 7-Jan-02, to lugnet.pirates)

Re: Building with elements from X-Wing 7191?

(...) This set has a variety of pieces and many colors, so I would say this set is good for castle or pirates. Here's a link to the inventory with pictures: (URL) that helps, Julie (23 years ago, 7-Jan-02, to lugnet.pirates)

Re: Any talk of a Pirate Game or BrikWars at BrickFest 2002?

If you do indeed mean BrickFest in DC, then yes, there will most likely be at least one BrikWars game. Hopefully several. I am working with WAMALUG, the host club, and am trying to even plan some scenarios so that people can prepare and bring armies (...)   Re: My ISCC entry [or a partial history of Brictoria]

Re: My ISCC entry [or a partial history of Brictoria]

(...) I like it fine - always good to have a new port of call for the Port Block Squadron. Any thoughts as to the kind of maritime traffic one might find nearby - where are we geographically, are we on the ocean, in a bay, on a river..? And how many (...)   You guys rock the house.

Yahoo! My first posted MOC on Brickshelf has hit over 10,000 hits. It took me almost 2 months to put it together (with waiting for parts). I am very pleased that so many of you have stopped to take a look at it. I will be sure to take some better (...) (23 years ago, 31-Dec-01, to lugnet.general, lugnet.pirates)
