Hi all,

Thanks to Jeff Stembel who kindly took pics of some of my creations at a recent
brickwars bout, there are a few pics of some of my newest MOCs online.

http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=9797

The castle wall is part of a larger castle I've been working on for a while
now, and we took a few pics just to show the hoardings I've been building for
the walls. The are mounted a little higher on the walls than they would
reaslitically be mounted, but that is to make the walls look as high as
possible when the hoardings are attached. The corner tower on the right was
made from 5 of the grey droid escape pod pieces, I rotated the top floor by
almost exactly 45 degrees in order to put in a window at each side for flanking
fire along the walls.

The bigger of the two ships (brown hull) is something I built while at college
this term. I finally got my hands on a brown boat hull, and wanted to build a
medieval war cog, but it ended up looking more like a 16th century ship of some
kind (perhaps because of subconcious inspiration from the pirate dissertation I
am writing for my history major). It is a bit hard to see, but it has a
ballista for defense mounted on the foc'stle (spelling?). Also missing on the
pics is a blue turret at the very top of the mast, made from two of the turret
pieces.

The smaller of the two ships uses the sail from the armada flagship, which is
very good for medieval style ships. I wanted to make the towers at the front
and back look like they had been added on at the last minute, instead of being
an integral part of the ship.

Please LMKWYT!

Magnus

(...) are a nice touch, but I don;t know if I could afford enough Legorados to cover even a small castle. Thanks, George (23 years ago, 4-Jan-02, to lugnet.castle)
