I would be up for coming down to play, I drive down to DC area like once a
month or more anyway... I haven't seen my own collection for a couple months
now though :( i moved out of the house where it is... at last count i was up
to something like
2 SES
3BSB
5RBR
3IF
5IAF
4 RR
2 CC
2 modified larger CC
2 very large wide hull ships
5+ IF sized smaller hull ships
and a couple other random ships...
unfortunatly i have only two cutters.... so i would not be very much use to
the campain game... i have islands though! :)

No-- sadly I wasn't able to attend BrickFest. I've been lurking in the shadows
for a few years now, but most of that time was spent overseas in Japan. While
an excellent opportunity to build my collection, it was a bit of a drawback in
terms of getting to gatherings. I've been in the Annapolis area for about 3
months now. So I figure it's time to get a tad more active. The bulk of my
collection is in storage in Virginia right now, but I do have two SES a couple
of RR and a CC on hand. I can scramble a few Brigs or pinnaces together should
they be needed.

I've found a few sites with pics of the last couple of BrickFests and it seems
the overwhelming majority of them use small ships rather than the larger
sailing vessels. So the question is, which would be better to turn attention
to, building a smaller vessel or making a larger more heavily gunned ship? And
I get the idea that it's every man for himself in the games. Has there been a
game played where each ship is commanded by a different person, but each is
part of a larger fleet ( or maybe that would be too complicated ). Just some
questions to throw out.

So far we've been playing the campaign game variant where folks start
with a cutter. I've been doing some thinking about how to start with
larger ships or get them into play faster. I like the additional role
playing of the campaign game, but it just runs too long to get much
chance to upgrade ships. Perhaps next year we'll do a combat game and
then we can give each player 4-7 classes of ship. Of course if we got
all the ships available out, I think we'd need a larger play area.

I'll have to think about ways to still involve some of the scenario
islands.

I'm game to add a fleet to the battle should a time and place be appointed.

Perhaps you could scout out some locations?
