Hi Michael,

My name is Greg...

And I'm addicted to lego.

Oh it started off nice enought, I'd get a small set here and there, then I got
Engine Co. No. 9 (1978) for X-mas. It was over. I was through. Never would I
take to smoking, of drugs, because I had a habit. The Lego habit.

As you may gather, I constitue an AFOL, but as far as I see it, any one in
thier teens and still building is one also. Certainly anyone who willingly
signs on and uses LUGNET is a true fan of Lego. I have had my ups and downs.
Life can sometimes get in the way of collecting Lego, but you will always, and
I mean ALWAYS return. I did, and everyone using this system has also. The
addiction is too stong. My friend makes fun of me. He says, "you know, I spent
about $30 last week on cigarettes, you blew, what, $100 on Lego?" So I said,
yeah, but ABS dosen't give me cancer! Suffice it to say, he downloaded LDRAW
yesterday.

I collect them all, Town was my first. Then I had an affair with space, but
when the castle and pirates sets came out I though Lego was speaking directly
to me. I remember back in '82 when I got "Main Street" with the car dealership
minifig who had a cowboy hat, that it would be cool to have wild west Lego
sets. Years later, I have most of those also. The foort makes great fencing
around castle walls that arent hardend.

I say this, Lego ceased to be a toy for me. It is a creative outlet where I can
allow my fancy to go anywhere it wants. Keep in mind, the Lego created sets are
nice, but the real power comes from when you sit down and just build something
new. When that creation is complete, sit that on your shelf. That is what
really deserves to have a place in your room. Then when your friends come over,
and laugh at your big pile of Lego in your room, point that creation out. I
have found people tend to shut up when confronted with Lego sculpture.

I'm a castle junkie, a space junkie, you might see me comment in town, where
ever. I also like Formula One racing, driving fast (on closed circuits, public
road bad, BAD) and Graphic Design (my chosen profession, if I ever get out of
school :} )

I hope to be more a part of LUGNET, as it helps make the hurting stop when my
Lego is at home, and I'm not. OUCH!

GREG -Aw come on, one more A-wing, Please? -Howell

Now I'm up to two posts! This is so easy, and fun, maybe Napolian would have
stopped attacking people if he had LUGNET. Then again, he may have used the
Imperial soldiers to draw up battle plans.

  Hello

Hello everyone, I'd just like to post a quick introductory message. I've been lurking for a few weeks, but now I've decided to post. A little bit about me: I'm 14, and live in Arizona (U.S.A.). (An awkward age for a Lego fan, but it seems there are (...) (24 years ago, 14-Jul-00, to lugnet.people)
