If I took the pictures I’d have the same, except my cats would be kicking the crap out of my stuff.

But are Lugnetters pre-disposed to feline companions?

Perhaps, I’ve got three. All of them are black.

Or do cats have an affinity for Lego?

NO! Cats are aware of your affinity for Lego and will mess with your brick to torture you. Always remember, cats are evil at heart. Always. Especially the ones that pretend to be nice. They are luring you into a false sense of security.

Now, if you want an entertaining pet for Lego, try ferrets. They’ll help sort all right. They’ll come take a piece, run off with it and add it to their hoard. Wherever that might be. (in a corner, under a pillow, in the middle of the room, in the poop box, in their belly....) If you try to stop them, a battle will ensue. (usually ending with me playing bowling with ferret, another game entirely) Ferrets are great fun, dumb as a door nails but great fun.

When you have ferrets you truly appreciate the phrase, “to ferret out.” The single mindedness of a ferret is only rivaled by the AFOL who can’t accept new colors. When we had ferrets I treated my Lego time like Alcatraz lockdown for the ferrets. I’d play and scrape the brick while they looked on through the bars of their little ferret tower. I’d admit, I took delight in teasing the ferrets from afar, does that make me a cat personality? hmmmm, meow?

(...) You are so incredibly right on there, Mark. I lost my entire childhood collection of bricks (stored in one big plastic treasure chest in my mother's house) to a single cat with a weak bladder and an evil disposition. It's impossible to get cat (...) (20 years ago, 17-Dec-04, to lugnet.people, FTX)

Please help me reconcile these two statements: (...) I mean, if you KNOW they are evil, why have them around? (*I* know they're evil, and we have three, but it's not my idea, that impetus comes from elsewhere in our family) Unless you're evil (...) (20 years ago, 17-Dec-04, to lugnet.people, FTX)

A bit of a random mad post so stay with me. Ok, so scanning through Brickshelf, I've noticed a lot of pics of Lego MOCs and cats. If I took the pictures I'd have the same, except my cats would be kicking the crap out of my stuff. But are Lugnetters (...) (20 years ago, 17-Dec-04, to lugnet.build)
