need to make a 15 degree angle —Sam Pagel
anyone know of a part or combination of parts that would make a 15 degree angle, similar to the way 30365 and 30364 (locking hinge bricks) work. I would use those but they only stop at every 22.5 degrees. It wouldn't have to be a compact part(s) (...) (16 years ago, 30-Sep-08, to lugnet.parts)

(...) Brick hinge? Or the older style finger hinges. Tim (16 years ago, 30-Sep-08, to lugnet.parts)

Re: need to make a 15 degree angle —Sam Pagel
(...) Er, i forgot to specify, it has to be a rigid joint, not flexible (16 years ago, 30-Sep-08, to lugnet.parts)

Re: need to make a 15 degree angle —Nick Kappatos
(...) Some combination of Technic Angle Connector #3 and 1x2 Technic bricks with holes (or axle holes) may do it, though I couldn't find a protractor: (URL) (16 years ago, 1-Oct-08, to lugnet.parts)

Re: need to make a 15 degree angle —Nick Kappatos
     (...) Yeah, never mind - that's 30 degrees. BOOOOOO. (16 years ago, 1-Oct-08, to lugnet.parts)

Re: need to make a 15 degree angle —David Eaton
(...) If so, 45-30=15, and I know there are plenty of ways of make a 45 degree angle. Just arrange the 30 degree connector against a 45 degree connector, and presto! 15 degrees. DaveE (16 years ago, 1-Oct-08, to lugnet.parts)

Re: need to make a 15 degree angle —Brian Davis
(...) Well... as a Technic type, I'd do that with triangles. A long Technic beam as the base, and another almost-as-long for the slope, with a small beam for the "back" or "support" - since you can join these by pins, the geometry is rather (...) (16 years ago, 1-Oct-08, to lugnet.parts)

Re: need to make a 15 degree angle —Sam Pagel
(...) It doesn't need to be exact, just repeatable. I need to make an armature of 4 or 5 successive 15degree "turns" to support some panels that are making sort of a jointed arc. I'll give the technic pieces a try. Almost jumped for joy at Nick (...) (16 years ago, 1-Oct-08, to lugnet.robotics)

Re: need to make a 15 degree angle —Nick Kappatos
(...) Further measurements show that connector #3 is 22.5 degrees - this means you can use these to make a jointed 90 degree arc with 5 panels (the ends would be perpendicular to each other). Would this meet your design requirement? (16 years ago, 2-Oct-08, to lugnet.robotics)

Re: need to make a 15 degree angle —Sam Pagel
(...) The arc in question only covers 75degrees (5 panels, the first starting at a 15 degree angle). i managed to make it effectively with the suggestion of triangles out of technic pieces. triangles made of two 1X6 technic bricks and one 1X2 brick (...)         Re: need to make a 15 degree angle —Sam Pagel
Here is the finished frame. (URL) you look at the other pictures in the photostream for the ship (yeah, it's a spaceship) you'll see the paneling on the frame and a mockup of what the paneling looked like on the ship before i had a frame. The (...) (16 years ago, 2-Oct-08, to lugnet.robotics)

Re: need to make a 15 degree angle —Kevin L. Clague
(...) Have you tried starting with the technic 3 blade liftarm (44734) (URL) single 44734 gives you 3 120 degree angles. By combining four of them, I think you can get down to 12 30 degree angles. If you could combine that with 45 degrees and get (...) (16 years ago, 26-Dec-08, to lugnet.parts)
