| (...) Rob, my favourite line on your page: "Modding LEGO's rendition of my LifeLites minifigs" LMAO!! Stick it to 'em :] That "trash-can-lid" minifig head on the TLC version is bizarre. I can't believe they didn't make the batteries replaceable. (...) (20 years ago, 5-Feb-05, to lugnet.starwars, lugnet.space, lugnet.parts.mod)
| | | | Re: New Parts Drawings - Plates, Slope, Track Pieces
|
| (...) Please consider not posting bitmaps. They are very space intensive and take a long time to load. Instead use a lossless compressed format like .gif if you can. In my view jpegs are not as good for things like line drawings, they are better for (...) (20 years ago, 5-Feb-05, to lugnet.parts.custom, FTX)

| (...) Please don't go to a lot of trouble on my account! It's just that I usually post jpegs or bitmaps of things to my Brickshelf, since anyone can view them without any special software. I'm not seriously into CAD! If I had the facilities to (...) (20 years ago, 5-Feb-05, to lugnet.parts.custom, FTX)

| If it's a non-functional bulb, I'd think this would be an ideal opportunity to experiment with it and take it apart, to see if you can fit in a new lightbulb. It shouldn't be that difficult to accomplish. Perhaps you can even redesign it so it takes (...) (20 years ago, 5-Feb-05, to lugnet.parts, lugnet.storage, lugnet.general)

| (...) Hi, Yeah, I'm working in ACIS Solids, then exporting to STL, then from STL2DAT. I'll try to do a few more this weekend and post the results to the same folder. Something to do between TO soundbytes, anyway. Is the DAT file helpful at all, or (...) (20 years ago, 5-Feb-05, to lugnet.parts.custom, FTX)
| | | | Modding the new LEGO lightup minifig
|
| Finally! I got my hands on one of the new LEGO produced lightup figs. You know what comes next - MUTILATION!!! First, some observations of the LEGO version: The packaging states the batteries are not replaceable. With a little work, you can pry off (...) | (...) Yes, yes, I tried those things too. I have another bulb of the same age from the same set on the other end of my loco, powered by the same battery box, and it's working just fine. I tried going backwards on the connections; first I put the (...) (20 years ago, 5-Feb-05, to lugnet.parts, lugnet.storage, lugnet.general)

| Hi there, I've been pondering the aesthetic issue. Last night I made a pyramid of Lego heads, illustrating the schema in Scott McCloud's book, Understanding Comics. (See below) McCloud's schema for comic characters identifies three artistic poles (...) (20 years ago, 5-Feb-05, to lugnet.build.minifigs, lugnet.parts.mod, FTX)

| (...) Well, they've recently started producing 5L and 7L technic axles, which have proved extremely useful (thanks!). And I always love to bring up the (URL) 5x9 plate> they documented but never made :) ROSCO (20 years ago, 5-Feb-05, to lugnet.parts.custom, FTX)
