has the NCLUG looked into doing a display at that show? Its some easy money

I'd have to disagree with the "esay money" comment.  If it's a two
day show, you spend two full days at the show, including set-up and
tear down.  That's $150 for the club (in our case about 15 people).
Two days of my time is worth a bit more than $150, and that's just
one person.  The money WAMALUG receives from train shows barely
covers the costs of materials we need to do the shows (tables, table
skirts, plexiglass etc).

By all means do train shows, they are tons of fun, and it creates a
focal point for club efforts.  It's amazing to see what happens
when 15 people all contribute to one layout.  The "I can't believe
we have all this stuff/built all this stuff" feeling is overwhelming.

I agree Kevin that the money isn't going to make you rich, but it's nice to
help pay for club items, like tables, flyiers and other things. It's definatly
not going to cover your time. Most of the club items like tables, plexiglass
and such are reusable. So you take a hit at first but it evens out after
awhile and gives you enough to maintain the tables and such.

But yes the money is not the reason I would do the shows, its like Kevin says
its all about the fun of being with other LEGO people. And the reaction from
the crowds are always great too.

So no it's not about the money, but it is nice to get a little for something
you'd do for free.
