To All,

MichLUG has a great meeting on Saturday, September 8th. Unfortunately, I do
not have many pictures of it outside of Trevor’s ships, that was my fault,
so my apologies on that. I will post the pictures I do have tomorrow, my
computer crashed this morning, and could not upload any.

Here is the list of attendees (No order, just my massive, yet jumbled, memory):

Steve Ringe
Chris Leach, and family
Kai Brodersen
Larry Pieniazek
Amy Hughes
Ken
Gary Stahl
Jason Spears
Tony Hedglen
Trevor Pruden
Lester Witter
Scott Sanburn

We had two new people attending, Steve R. friend Ken (If I remember his name
correctly, if it is wrong, please feel free to correct me!) and Gary Stahl.
It was great to see some new faces, and be sure to stop by or write here
every now and then!

Anyway, we had it at a fellow member’s house, of Steve Ringe. Many thanks to
him and his family for hosting us, I know it can be a handful! : ) We met at
1:00PM EST, and we all pretty much arrived at the same time. Since I drove
my wife’s Shadow, I had a few comments about driving it. Believe me, if I
had a choice, I would have taken the TDF-Phantom.

Since I was a moron, and forgot to take pictures, feel free to link to your
creations if you have pictures, or to submit a link.

We sat around and snacked at first, and saw some really good creations from
a number of people, which will be described in greater detail later. We then
helped Larry with some sorting, and discussed some plans for future events
and other items.

Some people thought up of a nice water area for the next layout, with a
large yellow bridge, and a 22 brick high sea wall, which will make a nice
water area, for lots of ships.

We ended up ordering pizza, which is always nice. Larry had some McDonalds
sets, and had a blast trying to assemble them in the bag. Here is a link:

It was hard, and I got frustrated, but it was a blast. Any club looking for
something to do, this is great.

We concluded around 9:00PM, and went our separate ways.

Here are some breakdowns of items brought:

Steve Ringe:

We had a tour of Steve’s massive building area, and it was great. He has his
train layout there, along with his creations and his awesome parts storage.
Steve, do you have a problem with dust or anything?

Highlights included his awesome creations, and his massive storage and
parts, I know Trevor and I were stunned!

Chris Leach:

Chris brought his new building he is working on, with a great looking
overhang area, and some neat looking window placements.

Larry Pieniazek:

Larry brought some sets he needed help sorting, so we had a lot of fun
sorting through some Sith’s and some soccer busses, I have not seen that
many parts since my own little endeavor. I thought it was fun, and I am glad
I could help Larry out, I got a 5190 out of it
http://guide.lugnet.com/set/mdata.cgi?q=5190_1

: )

He also showed us some Milton Train Works items coming up, which looked great.

Kai Brodersen:

Kai brought a really neat looking shuttlecraft, which had a lot of detail on
it, and looked great. Great job, Kai!

Gary Stahl:

Gary brought his nice rendition of a Federation Runabout, which was a good
model! That is a hard ship to try to build, since it is heavily curved. He
also brought his laptop, and his current lament of Windows. : )
He had a Sony digital camera, with the floppy disk loader, hopefully he can
upload some pics on Brickshelf or something! It was a sincere pleasure to
meet you, sir!

Jason Spears:

Jason brought a lot of buildings for our downtown area for the next show.
They were all very detailed, and looked super! I can’t wait to see more. I
think he has his up on his website, I believe.

Tony Hedglen:

Tony brought some amazing creations, his red triangular building, which
looked totally awesome. He also had a blue traditional style farmhouse, and
a Coal power plant, complete with a coal warming train car shed. He had some
great creations.

Trevor Pruden:

Trevor brought his new ships, which were simply stunning, my favorites were
the Corvettes. He is the Capital Ship master of MichLUG! I will have his
pictures up soon!

Lester Witter:

Lester brought his version of the new MOT Caboose, which looked good. He got
some good advice, as we seem to have some knowledgeable trianheads! He also
brought his stash of Shell LEGO items, which I will have displayed on my
basement. He also gave me the set up directions for them from Shell, which
is too cool.

Scott Sanburn

Since I just moved, I had no creations to speak of, but I did bring my
latest order from NeeD Lego in so people can drool over. There are some gems
there, that’s for sure! I also asked for input on my upcoming project, a big
train station, Larry P. gave me some great suggestions.

UPCOMING ITEMS FOR DISCUSSION:

1) Shirts – we need some, preferably before GATS – polo, T-shirt. Ideas,
suggestions, etc.
2) MLTC Logo – Where are we on this? Shirts as well?
3) Upcoming displays, meetings – We have one in planning for the 20th of
October. We also need to start coming up with plans for GATS, Confusion, and
Tony’s event. Ideas, suggestions?
4) Any new shows or displays we can attend?

Anyway, that is pretty much it. If anyone wants to comment on it, or add
anything, feel free. I have to go back to work.

Thanks Steve, it was a blast!

Scott S.

To All, My apologies for the delay in the updating of the pictures, I have been watching the continuing saga and tregedy that has happened today. I know I am feeling very sick to my stomach and very tired, and exhausted. I know it is more in my head (...) (23 years ago, 11-Sep-01, to lugnet.org.us.michlug)
