Re: Chicago LEGO Builders Meeting —Joe Strout
(...) As I posted on the Yahoo list (after discovering that I hadn't been receiving any messages for several days -- another reason to despise Yahoo), I won't be able to host this weekend. However, how about finding a restaurant that has a meeting (...) (20 years ago, 1-Sep-04, to lugnet.org.us.clb)

Re: Chicago LEGO Builders Meeting —Jason Spears
(...) Yes yahoo can suck. If you don't mind checking it online (and I don't) it's not too bad. Hopefully we will get out website/forum/mailing list thing all sorted out and then we can abandon yahoo groups. (...) I found their (URL) website>. (...)      (...) About the same, I think (it's been a long time since I've been to an Applebees). The burgers cost about $6 or $7, IIRC, and are quite good. Of course if you want New York Strip steak it's going to cost you more. I'm sorry I don't recall exact (...) (20 years ago, 1-Sep-04, to lugnet.org.us.clb)

(...) That's about what I was guessing. Yeah, I suspect that's probably not too bad for people. (...) I'm assuming that as well. (...) I appreciate you taking initiative on this and everything sounds like this place will work great. (...) Right. I'd (...) (20 years ago, 1-Sep-04, to lugnet.org.us.clb, FTX)

Re: Chicago LEGO Builders Meeting —Joe Strout
Well, Ballydoyle's finally called me back, and I don't think is going to be right for us. For groups using the meeting room (which seats up to 30, BTW), they don't take separate checks; they want a lump payment which will be a minimum of $250. So, (...)          Re: Chicago LEGO Builders Meeting —Jason Spears
(...) Ack! That's no good. I'm not even sure I'm reading that right, would it just be $250 for the room itself, nevermind the cost of food? Ugh that wouldn't be good for us regardless of the number of people. Still we could meet there and eat, just (...) (20 years ago, 2-Sep-04, to lugnet.org.us.clb, FTX)

(...) Well, I'm up for an Irish pub after the meet. b33r. -Tim (20 years ago, 2-Sep-04, to lugnet.org.us.clb, FTX)

Re: Chicago LEGO Builders Meeting —Joe Strout
(...) No, to be clear: $250 is just the minimum total of the bill, which is for your food and drinks. If we buy $260 of food and drink then the room is free; but if we each buy a soda totalling $10, then they're going to charge us $250 anyway. Now, (...)
