On the recommendation of y'all at the meeting on Sunday, I visited the Woodfield
mall yesterday. Its LEGO store is quite nice (though oddly, it's not on the
mall directory). I think it's pick-a-brick selection isn't quite as large as
the one downtown, but it's certainly close. (It looks bigger than it is -- the
top two rows of bins were empty, apart from some bricks behind glass at the back
of each bin that makes them look like they have stuff until you clamber up the
ladder like an idiot.)
But anyway...
I notice that Peeron has Pick-a-Brick inventories for just a couple of LEGO
stores. I think this would be really handy to have for our local stores too.
No need to go much out of our way, but whenever one of us happens to visit, we
could jot down what they have and post it somehow. That way we could often plan
ahead a bit instead of having to pick our bricks on the spot.
Does this seem worthwhile to anybody else? How often do they change the
selection, anyway?
Thanks,
- Joe

| (...) The downtown store must have expanded their selection. I was last there in February and it wasn't that impressive. (That was the only time I visited a LEGO store with PaB and didn't buy anything.) If they are better, cool, I'll have to stop by (...) (20 years ago, 7-Sep-04, to lugnet.org.us.clb, FTX)
