It was really great for me to meet these other AFOLs. I pointed out at the
meeting that before that day, I had never met anyone more into LEGO than me --
ever. Now there was a whole room full of them!
Jason brought a witch's hut he had just finished building -- hopefully he'll
post pictures soon, because it was beautiful. Very Halloween-ish, too.
In a similar vein, Susan and Alex have apparently been working for quite a while
on a complete (and custom) rendition of Hogwarts. They've never posted any pics
online before, but hopefully we'll be able to help them do that, because it
sounds pretty amazing.
Since this was my first meeting with other AFOLs in person, I was a little
curious what sort of people I would meet. I was delighted to find that they
were all quite pleasant and neighborly. If any of the readers here are
"sleeper" AFOLs in the Chicago area, as I was, I encourage you to come to the
next meeting. We'd love to meet you, and I think you'll enjoy it as I did.
