On the recommendation of yall at the meeting on Sunday, I visited the
Woodfield mall yesterday. Its LEGO store is quite nice (though oddly, its
not on the mall directory). I think its pick-a-brick selection isnt quite
as large as the one downtown, but its certainly close. (It looks bigger
than it is -- the top two rows of bins were empty, apart from some bricks
behind glass at the back of each bin that makes them look like they have
stuff until you clamber up the ladder like an idiot.)

The downtown store must have expanded their selection. I was last there in
February and it wasnt that impressive. (That was the only time I visited a LEGO
store with PaB and didnt buy anything.) If they are better, cool, Ill have
to stop by next time we are downtown.

I notice that Peeron has Pick-a-Brick inventories for just a couple of LEGO
stores. I think this would be really handy to have for our local stores too.
No need to go much out of our way, but whenever one of us happens to visit,
we could jot down what they have and post it somehow. That way we could
often plan ahead a bit instead of having to pick our bricks on the spot.
Does this seem worthwhile to anybody else? How often do they change the
selection, anyway?

It is worthwhile to me and Ive thought about it before. I sorta live far away
from the stores, but Id be happy to help out when Im there.

| (...) All right -- next time I go (and don't have my four-year-old waiting on me), I'll take a pad and pen and jot down what they have. If anyone else makes it to one of our LEGO stores, perhaps you can do the same. For starters, I suppose we can (...) (20 years ago, 7-Sep-04, to lugnet.org.us.clb)
