dignitaries attended. Did you guys make a list or do you remember? And were
the two Air Force Pilots (you could tell by the face mask tan lines) also
astronauts (or ‘nauts in training)?

Well, to be blunt, the high profile astronauts were no-shows. Same for the
politicians. Senator Tom DeLay from Texas was present, tho, as well as
representatives of the families for the Apollo 1, Challenger, and Columbia
Crews.It was a really nice moment when they were recognized. One of the speakers
was Hugh Downs, as well as Sean O’Keefe, current NASA administrator.
The big performer was Lee Greenwood, who I chatted with after he performed. Very
nice, very patriotic man.
The astronauts that we met were astronauts who were in training for future
flights.
Felix and I had a really neat chat with a Ukrainian person who actually arranged
for 300 LEGO Martians and a Lego spacecraft to be sent with a mission to the
Space Station a couple of years ago. I’ll have to check my stuff and find his
card.
