Re: The Brickfest PDX Moonbase Build Up!

As of two days ago: (URL) Definitely not much there, but I keep plugging away at it. Buildings are a completely new project for me, and coupled with a general lack of good black pieces this is turning into one of my more challenging models. But (...)   Has anybody successfully added an RCX to 7471 Mars Rover?

Ever since I picked up the 7471 Mars Rover a few months ago, I thought it screamed out for an RCX modification. I saw a lot of discussion about the possibility, but didn't find where anybody had actually successfully done it. Now that BrickFest PDX (...)   Re: Vehicles for 16x16 Moonbase

(...) Yum, yum, Bram! This whole medium is *so* cool! I'm so sad that I won't be at BfPDX to see in person what everyone's been up to--I'll be moving into my new house that weekend. Have a blast, everybody! -Teddy (21 years ago, 19-Jan-04, to lugnet.space, lugnet.org.scibrick)

  Vehicles for 16x16 Moonbase

Here are a couple microfig/stickfig scale vehicles I came up with for the 16x16 Moonbase modules. First, a simple 3 wheeled car: (URL) me>> Next, a bus that lifts to connect to a corridor: (2 URLs) Click me>> (2 URLs) Click me>> (2 URLs) Click me>> (...)   Re: Proposed standard for Mini/Micro Moonbase

Very cool, Bram ! I was looking at the 8x8 idea and thinking it was great, but that it was too small for a lot of detail. It's just a bit smaller than Anders Isaksson's stuff, but big enough to be interesting. -JSM (...) <SNIP> (21 years ago, 18-Jan-04, to lugnet.space, lugnet.org.scibrick)

  Proposed standard for Mini/Micro Moonbase

Here's a standard I came up with for a 16x16 module size. This allows quite a bit more detail than the 8x8 standard, yet it's still small enough to allow many modules with limited pieces. (URL) The corridor is a 2x2 round brick and plate, centered (...) (21 years ago, 18-Jan-04, to lugnet.space, lugnet.org.scibrick, FTX)

  Re: Proposed Micro/Nano-fig Moonbase Standard

(...) Excellent, that's perfect. I don't like the idea of having a ton of standards though. I'm thinking minifig, and microfig, and that be it. Of course, you could make larger modules, 8x8, 8x16, 16x16, etc. As long as your connectors are centered (...) (21 years ago, 17-Jan-04, to lugnet.space, lugnet.org.scibrick, FTX)

  Proposed Micro/Nano-fig Moonbase Standard

Here's a standard I came up with for a Moonbase module based on an 8x8 stud platform. You can fit four of these on every 16x16 stud baseplate...or 16 on a 32...or 36 modules on a 48x48! Imagine the sizes the Moonbase could approach on just a few (...) (21 years ago, 17-Jan-04, to lugnet.space, lugnet.org.scibrick, FTX)

Re: The Brickfest PDX Moonbase Build Up!

(...) The extra 4-connection module makes sense. A veritable hub of 3vil. Me likes. Consider my module a single-connector. --Ryan W. (21 years ago, 16-Jan-04, to lugnet.events.brickfest, lugnet.general, lugnet.org.scibrick, lugnet.space, FTX)

Re: The Brickfest PDX Moonbase Build Up!

(...) Muahahaha. I think my 3vil Skullmodule will have one connection, and then I will make a 4-way connector behind it, perhaps with some greebles or a tower or some such. That would leave 3 connection points for others to join me in my 3vil ways. (...) (21 years ago, 16-Jan-04, to lugnet.events.brickfest, lugnet.general, lugnet.org.scibrick, lugnet.space, FTX)

Re: The Brickfest PDX Moonbase Build Up!

One question while I'm at a pause in my building- what type of module do you guys find you usually need more of: 1, 2, 3 or 4 corridored-modules? I'd like to help out by building my model however best it can be used, though I do have a stipulation (...)
