(...) I agree that the trains look much better parked on straight track. However, I don't think all the sidings need to be the same length. We will definitely have some shorter trains (ie. Thomas), and could save some real estate by having some (...) (23 years ago, 29-Apr-01, to lugnet.org.ca.vlc)

I found some excellent resources for the Hogwart's Express train, including a page dedicated to the actual train used in the movie! My first impression is that it can be done quite nicely.
