Re: Oh oh, Huston, we have a problem...

(...) No, the switches are WAY to stiff. You have to open up the switch and shave off most of the bumps that cause the friction... There's lots of delicate stuff in there. I made the mistake of using one of my switches that was flaky to begin with (...) (23 years ago, 24-Jul-01, to lugnet.org.ca.vlc)

Re: Oh oh, Huston, we have a problem...

(...) That's what I figured... I've been looking at the layout and I don't see any easy way to move things around with out causing absolute hell... Sigh... (See other message to Byran) Dean (23 years ago, 24-Jul-01, to lugnet.org.ca.vlc)

Re: Oh oh, Huston, we have a problem...

(...) Can't you apply what you learned from the first try? Are you willing to let someone modify one of yours? (...) I tried a whole bunch of options. There is one remote possibility, but it requires some serious fudging of the track. Probably not (...) (23 years ago, 24-Jul-01, to lugnet.org.ca.vlc)

Re: Oh oh, Huston, we have a problem...

(...) Um, what exactly does "modify" mean in this context? Not just as simple as removing the yellow switch thingy I'm guessing... -Bryan (23 years ago, 24-Jul-01, to lugnet.org.ca.vlc)

  Re: Plexi ... again

(...) It's actually plexi sandwiched between lengths of 1x2(approx). The base and plexi are permanently attached, as per Larry's explanation. (...) Yep. This (and the display tables) are what connect the different sections of guard. (...) I think (...) (23 years ago, 24-Jul-01, to lugnet.org.ca.vlc)

  Re: Weeping Willow

(...) If you want the train to stop at the station you must isolate the track and run it by the MS. (...) There is one magnet sensor before the switch track. And there is a light sensor just after the switch track. (...) Yes. I have 7 more sensors (...) (23 years ago, 24-Jul-01, to lugnet.org.ca.vlc)

  Re: Weeping Willow

(...) Ok I think I've left enough room for all of the above. But why do we need a (motor?) wire running to the track? Also, I'm not quite clear as to the sensor you're talking about... Do we have to place it inside the mountain? Perhaps the dry-run (...) (23 years ago, 24-Jul-01, to lugnet.org.ca.vlc)

  Help -- wardrobe truck

This is Alex using Dean's account (don't ask). Okay, folks, it's time for me to publicly admit that I just can't do the truck. I have tried several times and nothing comes together. I only wanted a wardrobe/make up truck (just the trailer part, not (...) (23 years ago, 24-Jul-01, to lugnet.org.ca.vlc)
