  Re: final rules.

(...) If it's decided that the arbitrator does not automaticly signal, then a touch sensor could be added to the signal line, which starts the match. Then, the lucky person going first, doesn't also get 1 free turn. But, actually, I think it could (...) (21 years ago, 17-Oct-03, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  Re: final rules.

(...) You just have to signal the first robot to start. Possibly through hitting run, or whatever method you choose. It then signals the completion of its first move. This starts the clocks. There is no advantage to sitting around contemplating an (...) (21 years ago, 17-Oct-03, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  Re: final rules.

(...) You may be surprised how easily this could happen. The simple act of pressing the button, and holding it, could cause more than one "signal" to be sent. In mechanical switches, you can get some "bounce" when opening or closing the it. Like (...) (21 years ago, 17-Oct-03, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  Re: final rules.

(...) Your point here is valid. We do need to experiment with the signaling wiring and procedure. Potentially we could say any press and releases in a 2 second period count as one. Your turn is automatically 2 seconds long. It's tricky we need to (...) (21 years ago, 17-Oct-03, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  Re: final rules.

(...) Do the control labs have 2 inputs and 2 outputs? Can you just hook one in & out together, and say that is the signal line for one robot? (then do the same for the other?) Then, when one signal is received, the control lab sends out a signal on (...) (21 years ago, 17-Oct-03, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  Re: final rules.

(...) Couldn't you achieve the same end result by using just one sensor port? And signal EoT by changing the port from Passive to Active and back? (21 years ago, 17-Oct-03, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)
