Whoops, replying to my own post.

OK, I put together a quick version of the single clutch machine.

This one works on easy-to-move points.  If it doesn't work well, you
should just use the double-clutch point machine instead, with which I've
never had a problem.

There's the folder of the steps & LDR file.  I've left out most of the
body of the switch house, since you can fill it in pretty easily.  It is
necessary to add a bit more bulk to give the unit strength.  The yellow
technic plate attaches (using the 1/2 pin) to the bar protruding from
the yellow switch piece on the points.  Mirror-image the building for
the other handedness of switch.

To build a double-clutch machine, extend the building length by 1, use a
4-long axle instead of the 3-long, and two clutch gears in place of 1.
Drive with 2 16-tooth gears.

I think I also omitted a pair of 1x6 plates which each run beneath one
of the crankshaft pieces to help hold the plates of the base together.

Hope this helps,

Jeff E.
