again, I have to stress that when Calum says that we are in this to
DESTROY LEGO he is exaggerating.

Actually, I'm not.

this would be more like a "demolition derby" were parts fall off rather
then break beams in half.

It will be fun, you should have no fear of breaking lego.

My idea is really the same at any rtlToronto event:  Come with the
expectation you'll be buying all new RCXes and parts, that way you're not
going to be pissed if anything breaks.

Lego is pretty resilient, but I'm not discounting someone could have Lego
broken.  Those 8475's motors can accelerate pretty fast.  If you give them
leeway to move (this probably wont' happen in a 8x8 field, it has to be
larger for manouveuring) that's a good amount of force.

Anyways, what ever happened to the smack down robot idea:

Smack-Down 'bot - no holds barred 'bots in the arena, taking out other 'bots
by any means necessary (a la Robotica)...

Someone outside sticking their nose too close when Chris gets his 6
battery box hammer going and they get hit?--their tough cookies!

Calum

You know where I stand on the idea...

I have so many old bems 'n stuff that I don't care if they break.  I once
build a cube out of solid LEGO bricks... if you want to take that idea, I
highly doubt that a 6 battery box hammer could damage that significantly.

I have a few ideas in mind--the RC car doesn't do well for A-B steering
though, so I'll have to figure something else.

I'm in whatever the group decides...

Right now I'm focused on rtlTrain 5, and the 'king o the hill' is being
fluffed off until the last possible minute (as usual), and I keep walking by
LOR, who is just standing forlorn on my coffee table.

This weekend I'm booking my uncles workshop and (hopefully) pumping out 6
modules.  The legs I'll save for another time, but hopefully before rtl4.5

So many projects... so little time.
