Inspired by Breakfast television, and the events that it has spawned I
would like to implement a new program at rtlToronto.org
Its called
Swap-a-Bot.
The premise is simple. One of the reason we do the regular contests is
so that we can see how others solve the same problem. the biggest
complaint I hear from full time card carrying members is that come game
day contestants do not have enough time to explore and play with other
peoples robots.
It makes sense. either your too busy on game day to to make you robot
work; OR some one else is too busy on game day trying to make his robot
work to take the time to show you.
The end result is the same, you see cool robots in action, but you don't
get the hands on.
This is where Swap-a-Bot comes into play
Imagine if you could take home, Rob's window walker. What would you do
if Iain, said you could borrow his TiJi delta robot. Then, think about
how cool it would be if it was OK to take these robots apart and study
how they worked. Knowing full well that a) its lego so you cant really
break it. and b) the owners were willing to provide phone tech support.
Got a Bot? Have you seen a robot that you would love to study up
close.... Join the rtlToronto Swap-a-Bot and see what awaits.
Chris
I was tired of not seeing any posts so I put this here.

| I want my window walker back :) I need the motors for something else. (...) I agree. This would be neat. I get first dibs on Dave's robot :) We should just trade robots after a competition. So you get to figure out exactly how someone elses creation (...) (22 years ago, 23-Jan-03, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)
