    rtl 13 rules —Steve Hassenplug
What about awarding something like 1/2 point when one robot was on the platform during the match? like: If no robots are on the pedestal (at the end), each robot that WAS on the pedestal at any time during the match will receive 1/2 point. ("on the (...) (22 years ago, 2-Dec-02, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

(...) Okay, but that person didn't manage to stay on. So you would reward the guy who gets on the pedestal, but you punish the guy who managed to pull the first guy off, which is a feat by itself. The only concern I would have is if the scoring gets (...) (22 years ago, 2-Dec-02, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

Re: rtl 13 rules —Steve Hassenplug
(...) In this case BOTH robots would get 1/2 point (draw) for being on the pedestal at some point during the match. Robots would only get 1/2 point if no one is on the pedestal at the end. As I understand it, it's NOT the goal to keep the pedestal (...) (22 years ago, 2-Dec-02, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

Re: rtl 13 rules —David Koudys
(...) It could get waaay too confusing... 'bot A gets up, 'bot B gets up, 'bot B pushes 'bot A off but in the action of pushing falls off himself, but 'bot A says he pulled 'bot B off... At the end of 3 minutes if there are no stacked blocks, there (...) (22 years ago, 2-Dec-02, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

Re: rtl 13 rules —Bruce Sheridan
I agree with Dave...Let's keep it simple. Will we determine the overall winner by total accumulated points, or, will it be based on the number of games won? Bruce (22 years ago, 3-Dec-02, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

Re: rtl 13 rules —Trevyn Watson
Didn't we decide at the post-event dinner that the box in the middle would be turned 45 degrees? ie, a line drawn perpendicular to the sides of the pedestal should pass through the corners of the playfield. Also, if anyone cares, I calculated the (...) (22 years ago, 4-Dec-02, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

Re: rtl 13 rules —Calum Tsang
(...) I actually remembered that last night. I don't really care each way-having you attack on a corner is moderately more difficult, but not really. I think we've established a precedent to make things less easy for the sake of it, but I'm (...) (22 years ago, 4-Dec-02, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

Re: rtl 13 rules —Trevyn Watson
(...) Oh my, I almost forgot! I should have done all those calculations in SI! Well, let me correct my mistake: There are 3.048 feet in 1 meter.* Hence, 8 feet / 3.048 feet/meter = 2.625 meters. And also, 2 feet / 3.048 feet/meter = 0.6562 meters. (...) (22 years ago, 5-Dec-02, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

Re: rtl 13 rules —Jeff Elliott
Um, Trevyn, I hate to rain on your parade, and all, but there are ~3.28 feet in a meter. That might throw off your calculations a bit. Well, truth be told, it did. The reference you gave states on page 42 that 1ft = 3.048 E-01 m That is, there are (...) (22 years ago, 5-Dec-02, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

(...) What was the final answer to this question? Is the platform arranged as shown here: (URL) is it turned 45 degrees? Steve (21 years ago, 2-Jan-03, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

Re: rtl 13 rules —Calum Tsang
(...) It's as shown on the webpage. You will approach the box facing a corner of the pedestal. Calum (21 years ago, 2-Jan-03, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)
