Oops, I copied the wring link. You can find the videos here:

I figured it out by just typing in haptic.wmv onto the end of the URL based on
the other videos :)

Yes. Too bad we don't allow custom sensors ;-)

Well, my classic argument is, what's a custom sensor?  Is it an ultrasonic
Polaroid sensor?  Is it a DGPS receiver?  A PC with machine vision and a pair of
HDTV CCD cameras?

The gameboy's not a bad idea either.  It's certainly cheaper than a custom
board.

Hmmm... The whole system is not terribly cheap. You need the "Xport" which
gameboy will cost around $100 CDN. Final price: approximately $420 CDN. I

Well, the CPU/display/memory part of it with that kind of processor power can't
be cheap..at least you save there.

can tell me how that back-EMF circuit works????

The wonderful Internet can!

What I found interesting was that the article says it's more of a hack, in that
there are more accurate ways (and probably cheaper, since it requires unusual
circuitry to handle the voltage and direction changes) to sense position and the
fact you lose some of the power of the motor because you have to use some of the
PWM period to read the feedback back...

It sounds pretty complex.  I'm going to use the Janey-voice and say "control
systems engineering is hard" and go back to my skipping rotation sensors (BTW,
thanks for the heads up on that one).
