(...) Welcome Back!!! I hope it wasn't that bad, and that you have the energy for your next trip... that is soon, especially after spending that long. I bet it is fairly "warm" there still. Anyways...great post!! Sounds like fun. Ben (22 years ago, 26-Oct-02, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  Re: 4107 Basic Bricks Photo

(...) Funny, that's the big reason I'm anxious to get some of these. :) (...) Specifically in and around the London, ON area? I am going to head to one or more Walmarts tomorrow, if there is a good chance of finding these buckets. I'm tired of (...)   Mindstorms book.

Is this the book that Rob and Jeff E. wrote chapters for? (URL) in fact it is. Helps if you read the whole lugnet message. :-) (URL) I was just confused because syngress website doesn't list Rob or Jeff as authors. :-( Derek (22 years ago, 25-Oct-02, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  Re: Bruce is the man

(...) What tips did Bruce give you? I'm making my first attempt at a multi-RCX robot for the block-stacking compettition and having a dismal time of it. Do you have any tips on hot to get a roving robot to return to base reliably? That probably (...) (22 years ago, 25-Oct-02, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  Bruce is the man

Just like the subject says... My firefighting robot was a hunk of junk. Then I was able to fix the program with some tips Bruce gave me. Now the RCX's communicate beautifully, and the robot is one smooth machine. I'm not afraid of that second RCX (...) (22 years ago, 25-Oct-02, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  Re: Arena...

(...) I will be purchasing 1x8's for the walls, so I guess the walls will be 7 1/2" tall. Dave K (22 years ago, 24-Oct-02, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  Re: Arena...

This brings to mind another question - how tall is the surrounding wall? Matthias Jetleb (22 years ago, 24-Oct-02, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

Re: Help Demo this weekend at ECRG?

What times? I'm booked for Saturday, but if Sunday's ok, I could bring the family, set Regina and the kids free for an hour (or two) and demo my block stacker. It would be interesting to see if it can go higher than 14, now that I've discovered that (...) (22 years ago, 24-Oct-02, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  Re: Arena...

The only problem I can see to the tape idea relates to the pushing of blocks, or other objects with sharp edges in other events down the road. Will the edges catch on the tape? Would this tear up the tape and entangle a robot? If it's really really (...) (22 years ago, 24-Oct-02, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

Re: Help Demo this weekend at ECRG?

(...) Hey Calum, I was planning on making an arena Saturday, should take me a few hours. If I knew exactly when the presentation was, I could potentially get there. Dave K (22 years ago, 23-Oct-02, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

Help Demo this weekend at ECRG?

Hey folks, I was wondering if anyone would be interested in coming to the Science Center this weekend to help me give a demonstration of Mindstorms to an amused (or confused) crowd. Benefits would include...I suppose a free trip to the Science (...) (22 years ago, 23-Oct-02, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

Re: Is the nex' dinner gonna be @ Mel's?

(...) Not really sure at this point, it's still a month away. We might also have a big surprise, but I'm not mentioning it until it's solidified-don't want to build anyone's hopes up if it doesn't happen. Calum (22 years ago, 22-Oct-02, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)
